Be sure to read this

One of the best -- and most heartfelt -- blog posts I have seen in a while. Crises are sometimes clarifiers and Aaron Lee-Wudrick sums up what many of us must be thinking in a more lucid manner than I could.

As a quick aside, a few people said the post below was glib and too nonchalant. Well, sorry. But we've seen this stuff too many times before to get too worked up. Politics attracts many types of people, good and bad. Some people are only in it for themselves, and will do whatever it takes to advance their careers. We saw one of those people in action today.

Yes, this is a big blow to the Tories. But so was Brison's defection. So was the defection of Keith Martin before that and Bill Matthews and Diane St. Jaques and David Price before that. So was Jack Horner's leap in the late 1970s. These things happen, and life will go on.
