Two things

The problem with the Gomery Inquiry is that so much information is coming out on a daily basis now that it's getting difficult to keep track. Chuck Guité's explosive testimony yesterday is extremely damaging to the Liberals and particularly to the Prime Minister, whom Guité says was well aware of the program and even intervened to ensure a Liberal firm he liked received contracts. (Andrew Coyne has a good round-up.)

Meanwhile, Le Devoir reports today that a Parti Québecois budget analysis by a bunch of econ profs shows that an independent Québec would have a $5-billion surplus. I have no idea how this was calculated but it seems like more technicolour dreaming from the separatists. More later...

UPDATE, 1:45pm ET: An English story is here.

UPDATE II, 2:00pm ET: Paul Wells weighs in.
