I guess I just witnessed some history. Nobody saw that coming. Landry said he would stay on if he got 76% or more, and he got 76.2%. Eerily reminiscent of Joe Clark's leadership review in 1983 -- except Landry won't be running to replace himself! Delegates were shocked at the news. The media section was totally floored: it had been such a borefest and now this. People were crying and hugging all over the place. They started yelling "NON! NON! NON!" as Landry announced he would step down immediately and resign his seat in the legislature.
