Buckley turns 80

A superb piece yesterday by the editorialists at The New York Sun celebrating the 80th birthday of conservative icon William F. Buckley, Jr., as well as the 50th anniversary of his founding of National Review magazine. Buckley was treated to lunch with the President to celebrate the occasion. Last year I wrote about Buckley's retirement from NR in the National Post.

There's really nothing else to say other than: bravo! What an amazing life. Buckley is one of the most important intellectual and political personalities of the 20th century. He deserves these accolades and more.
