Finally, an end to using the U.S. as a punching bag and sacrificing our most important relationship for petty political gain. This was one of my biggest pet peeves with the Liberals. It was so petty. As Michael Ignatieff said, such behaviour is trite and shallow. It serves absolutely no purpose whatsoever. I wouldn't be surprised if Brian Mulroney is involved in manoeuvering behind the scenes with Wilson to solve softwood lumber. No Canadian citizen has better relations with the Bush White House. With or without David Emerson's involvement, expect this file to be closed by the end of March.
