Victory for freedom in Ottawa

More empirical proof that election campaigns matter -- first Stephen Harper's Conservatives last January, now Larry O'Brien in Ottawa. For him to enter the campaign with some two months left and go from virtual unknown to a crushing landslide victory is astonishing. And what's more, this is a quality person of immense accomplishment. This is the kind of person everyone says they wish would run for office, but they rarely do. A self-made local business giant running on a tough-on-crime, no-new-tax, waste-cutting platform beat a career Liberal politician and a career socialist hack.

It's cause to celebrate, frankly.

UPDATE: At the rate she's going, Hazel McCallion is going to die in office -- in about 20 years!

UPDATE II: Not all is well in Mississauga, however.
